Football Kenya Federation [FKF] has confirmed that the Kenyan Premier League [KPL] season will start on the second week on February 2015. This came after days of uncertainty with a push and pull within the football and league managers not doing much to lighten matters about the upcoming season. Assured -We are working hard to ensure all matters are settled as soon as possible but we can give assurance that the league will kickoff on the second week of February, said FKF President Sam Nyamweya. This comes as another face off builds up between Kenyan Premier League and Football Kenya Federation over the broadcast rights after the latter reportedly signed a fresh deal with another broadcaster before the lapse of the previous contract with Supersport. Contractual obligation This is likely to attract a legal battle if it is indeed true that a contract was breached a move that may further delay the kick off with the FKF and KPL also unable to agree on the number of teams in the first tier. A joint committee has since been formed to iron out the matter lead by FIFA officials.
