Football clubs in Oyo State now have opportunity to participate in the Adebayo Alao-Akala Transformation Cup as the organisers have made entries free for participating teams. The tournament being organised by Godson Football Promotions in collaboration with Velletri Sports Agency is open to football teams across the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State for the 2015 edition. According to the Director of Godson Football Promotions, Christopher Andrew, the tournament is aimed at galvanising massive support for Akala in his quest to lead Oyo into massive development, while creating a platform for the youths in the state to excel. He added that entries will begin from January 5—30 for boys and girls teams from the 33 LGAs with each LGA producing a champion for the final tournament in lbadan. There will be free accommodation and feeding for all the participants, while the winning team will receive a golden trophy, cash prize of 1.5 million naira, a branded club bus and opportunity to be watched by Velletri Sports Agency and its partners from Sweden, USA, Germany, Spain, United King, Holland and Italy. Also, all registered players in the final round will receive a certificate of participation. Similarly, the tournament through VMS Volunteers for Nation Building will also be used to unveil the Miss Face of Akala Tournament 2015 with over 33 contestants representing each LGA expected to travel to lbadan for the finals in February. According to the Media and Publicity coordinator for Oyo State, Miss Alhazan Yetunde added that the VMS Volunteers with over 1.6 million volunteers and beneficiaries in Oyo State is urging the people to support Chief Akala Alao as the next governor of Oyo State and Hon. Alhaji Fatai Obabi for State House of Assembly for them to enjoy community development projects across the state.
