Football games begin in a few days and being season ticket holders, I know from experience that when we go to the gate of the stadium, my husband and I both have to have a ticket. It will be scanned, then we will be allowed to enter the stadium because the price has been paid for our tickets. I’m sure there are people who try to get in without a ticket, gate-crashers in other words. Gate-crashers attempt to obtain admittance at sporting events, concerts, movie theaters, etc. without paying for a ticket. Let’s pause for a moment and think about the heavenly gate. What does it take to obtain admittance into heaven? Jesus tells us in the Bible that there is only one way to get into Heaven and that is through Him (John 14:6). The “ticket” is personal faith in Christ. It is believing that He paid the price for your sin and you must accept His offer of forgiveness. That is the only guarantee of admission into Heaven. There will not be any gate-crashers. If you don’t possess the ticket of belief, you will not enter the heavenly arena. Christ IS the only ticket into heaven!
