For 24 hours, I must wear a blood pressure monitoring device because my physician is concerned about the instability of my blood pressure, and he needs to confirm whether or not its hypertension. Every 15 minutes, between the time they put it on at 2:05 p.m., until 10 p.m., its taking my blood pressure. From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., it will take my pressure every 30 minutes, and the 15 minutes will begin again at 6 a.m. Im not informing my FB family because I seek prayers, although its nice to have. Im informing you because this type of blood pressure monitoring wouldnt have been made possible if I didnt have health insurance, and great insurance at that! If you have health insurance of any kind, whether its Medicaid, Medicare, County Care, Blue Cross/Shield, etc., and especially if you qualified for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, go and learn of your health status. Theres no excuse! Physical wellness can only begin with the mental wellness of wanting to be made well. I learned that from the man at the pool of Bethsada, when Jesus asked if he wanted to be made well. Lastly, Im grateful to having great insurance through my wife, Carole Tomes Jakes, health care plan. HOWEVER, for PASTORS who dont have health insurance through that option, I implore you to demand that your church sow health care into your package. No matter how large or small the congregation, your health is important, and you deserve it. Thank you, West Point Baptist Church, for continuing to make it a priority.
