For Breed Mentor week I would like to thank my collie mentor Nancy Anstruther. Getting started in any new sport, hobby or endeavour in which you know nothing is a daunting task. Truly I can say I would not have stayed this almost nine years now in showing collies without Nancy. First off Nancy was one of the few people who did not say negative things about my first collie I started out with. Teaching me that it is easy to point out a dogs (or persons?) faults but always kinder to point out there virtues. Nancy has taught me everything from showing, to grooming, to going over dogs and honestly evaluating your breeding stock (and i know i still have far to go!) Nancy has been there for me when the going gets tough and is likely the most generous person I know. Thank you Nancy you are truly a great mentor and friend.
