"For God is my witness, Whom I serve with my [whole] spirit - TopicsExpress

"For God is my witness, Whom I serve with my [whole] spirit [rendering priestly and spiritual service] in [preaching] the Gospel and [telling] the good news of His Son, how incessantly I always mention you when at my prayers." Romans 1:9 - Amplified Are you burnt out or discouraged in Christian ministry? According to scripture, our union with the Lord is in our spirit. THERFORE, TRUE MINISTRY IS A OVERFLOW OF OUR INTIMACY AND UNION WITH HIM. In other words, what we "do" for Him should flow naturally out of a life submitted "to" Him. This is the idea that Paul had in mind when he said, "Whom I serve with my [whole] spirit...". If we minister this way, we remain full of life even in the face of difficulty and trial. We never burn out, because He is the eternal flame that fuels us, not our will power, excited emotions, or mental discipline. If we instead minister out of just good intentions, step out prematurely, or secretly desire to be seen or noticed, His Spirit will not fuel us. On the contrary, what we do will not leave a lasting impact, when our emotions calm down we will feel dry and lifeless, no "true" fruit will come forth, and if there is any secret motive, sooner or later God will expose it. Let us make it our first priority to have a submitted life to the Lord Jesus, and we will truly find that serving will come naturally.
