For Ray Its All About The Figures Watts: 1. The Save UAB - TopicsExpress

For Ray Its All About The Figures Watts: 1. The Save UAB Football FB page has 10,368 members tonight. 2. The average attendance for UAB football this year, at crumbling Legion Field on the other side of the tracks on the west side of Birmingham, was more than double that number--21,841. 3. Two seven-figure-plus donors to UAB were not asked to donate to save the program. In fact, UAB Pres. Watts would not let *anyone* donate specifically to football at UAB--imagine that, UGA donors and others. 4. UAB is bowl-eligible for the fourth time in the programs 19 years in Division I-A. 5. Most bowl payouts are in the $500,000 range and up. 6. For the first 11 years in Division I-A, UAB won at least 5 games in 9 out of those 11 years (high-water marks: 7-4 in 2000, 7-5 in 2004). 7. Then the UABOT denied UAB the ability to hire Jimbo Fisher and forced Neil Callaway on UAB. The Blazers won 5 games in only 1 of the 7 years following Neil Callaways hiring (a 5-7 season in 2009 with record-setting senior QB Joe Webb, that was it). 8. UAB is going to have to pay over $2.4 million to schools that had contracted to play the Blazers in football during the next two seasons. 9. Ray Watts is the 11th-highest paid university CEO in the nation, making $853,464 annually. 10. Watts claims to have been at UAB for 42 years, but has in fact spent only 15 years at UAB as a college student (1972-76) or a high-level administrator (2003-2014). That is an Exaggeration Factor of 2.8. A similar exaggeration factor would lead Watts to claim that he is over 16 feet tall. The numbers dont add up, Ray. #FreeUAB #UAB4Bowl fireraywatts
