For TBT - a great memory of my brother Mark from our Connecticut days. Every Wednesday wed go to a restaurant called Langtrees, just over the New York border. We wore suits and ties. sat at the same table, and talked about a full gambit of things. There was a lot of drawing of diagrams and doing calculations on napkins, and a few arguments that only brothers can have (yeah, about those kind of choices. The kind of statements that, if others make, result in blood loss and wired jaws). We always sat at the same table, got the same greeting from the help, and ordered the same thing - me, it was Filet Mignon with seasoned butter. Mark always ordered these esoteric drinks and beers. Once I remember him asking for the Waitress order pad and writing two paragraphs or so on the back - it was instructions to the Bartender for mixing the drink he wanted. He ordered these beers that I suspect where brewed by Tibetan monks whose monastery was at 17,000 feet, with the barrels being delivered by Sherpas working in the off season from assisting in Everest climbs. This all ended when the restaurant closed - which, I was told, was because of a raid where $20,000 worth of Cocaine was found on a desk. Thanks Bro. To those who knows us - I know, a uniquely Vermette experience.
