For The Record: The Winners Circle Horse Supply has been in business since 1994 and has given hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of Tennessee Walking Horse Shows all over the United States. Our livelihood from 1994 until recent years was derived primarily from the Walking Horse business and we greatly appreciate the support from the industry. Yes, we do still sell walking horse supplies and will always do so. The Tennessee Walking Horse industry has always been the core of our business. Thats one reason our Shelbyville store sits less than 50 yards from the Celebration grounds. Over the years, as a business owner I have always tried to plan for the future and get a look ahead and try to make changes ahead of the curve. AS the Walking Horse industry found itself in constant controversy and relentless attacks, I had to make contacts and constantly research for facts concerning the status of the industry. I had to keep myself informed as to what was down the road for the industry in order to make decisions to keep our business afloat. I recognized very quickly that there was nowhere to go in the media to find out the facts that would effect me in the future. All of the media outlets had an agenda. So I had to find out for myself. Recently, I started a website called Shelbyvillenow that is dedicated to serving the citizens of Shelbyville and Bedford County. The first 3 weeks we took a poll as to what the people of Shelbyville considered to be real news that they wanted to hear about. The #1 response was the Tennessee Walking Horse industry. We will be keeping the community up-to-date with the REAL news in the Walking Horse industry and continue to promote this breed. We Love the Tennessee Walking Horse and the City of Shelbyville. Ive lived here for 51 years! The citizens of this city deserve to know whats going on because the Tennessee Walking Horse has been the cornerstone of the economy around here for over 75 years. For the past 15 years or so there has been an unfortunate disconnect between the TWH industry and the community. ShelbyvilleNow is striving to reconnect Shelbyville to the Walking Horse Industry. On a daily basis we review the news from Washington, the national news outlets and of course we speak with local sources as well. We support the Tennessee Walking Horse and want to see it grow back to what it once was and even surpass that. We will continue to sponsor as many Tennessee Walking Horse events as we can financially and we will report events to this community as accurately as we can. Any ideas are welcome.
