For Want Of A Nail For want of a nail the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of a horse the rider was lost. For want of a rider the message was lost. For want of a message the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail. Matthew 9:36-38 Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Luke 10:2 He told them, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Hey, its a dirty job but someone has to do it. Yes we all have a purpose that God has for each one of us but it is the responsibility of all who follow Christ to bring the Word to the world. It may be your witness that leads a prodigal soul to Christ. It may not even be your words that persuade someone to seek what you have, It could be an act of kindness toward them, it could be the way you treat others, or it may even be the peace you exude that piques their curiosity, It is like a beggar knowing where a feast is and not letting other beggars in on the secret. We have no right to hoard the blessing that God has so graciously poured out on us. If one person sits on that blessing~ it could lead to the loss of many souls. Yet it is the fear of rejection that leads many to sit on the Word and they become as that lost horseshoe nail that takes down an entire kingdom. We fear the rejection of man more than we do the rejection of God and this is not good. If that nail falls out of the shoe and the horse falls and the rider fails to deliver the message and the kingdom falls because that message wasnt delivered~ do we really want that responsibility? Gods kingdom will never fail, but when we sit on our hands and do nothing while countless souls stay and remain lost, their blood will be on our hands and heads as the watchman in Ezekiel 33:6 who failed to warn the people of danger. It is not our responsibility to make them accept Christ, That is not our responsibility at all for we cannot save anyone, We cant even save ourselves much less anyone else, It is Jesus that saves. But it is our responsibility to witness Him to those who do not know Him. We run the risk of being rejected, We run that risk anyway, SO WHAT? We should expect rejection, the Word made flesh was rejected, so why should we not expect the same? But we should not let rejection stop us from getting His Word out. For we plant a seed that someone else may water, But it is God that gives the increase , And gets the glory. There are no insignificant workers in the Kingdom, we all play a part, regardless of whether we are a rider, a horse, a shoe or even a tiny nail. All play a part in delivering His Message. The harvest is ripe but the workers are few. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail. ~God loves you and so do I~
