For a guy of my generation, who grew up in the Golden Era of the TV Sports Anchor, the heartfelt, unscripted words from Rich Eisen of his former SportsCenter co-anchor Stuart Scott resonate. Eisen delivered this on the NFL Network this morning. Only 49. Stuart Scott - a legend in my field - passed away this morning after a warriors battle with cancer. He beat it back twice but couldnt do it a third time. I met Stuart a handful of times in my travels as a sports anchor. Always full of energy and a smile. I can vouch that Rich is a great guy from interactions long ago. The relationship between sports anchors (or news anchors) who work on the same show is complex and rarely indifferent. You become immersed with each others lives by merely sitting next to each other through endless commercial breaks. You pick each other up during bad times, celebrate the great days together. Stuart Scott leaves behind two daughters, millions of fans and a legacy as a sportscaster that touches many of us.
