For a little more than a year we prayed. We prayed that she would do what she was born to do so and complete the program and become a Seeing Eye dog. But more so, and selfishly so, we prayed that she would be greatly loved. We prayed for her someday family, that she would be matched with JUST the right family and that they would LOVE her like we loved her. And we loved her greatly. Because we do not know how to love any less than whole heartedly, we were relentless in praying that the family she would go to would get more than just a service dog. This was more important to us than anything else. Little did I know that we would be praying that blessing over our own family. Almost two months ago, we sent her back to The Seeing Eye to complete her training and today, Haley returned home. I truly believed we would not see her again. I believed in my heart she was going to finish the program. Today we did not get her by default or because she did not pass…we prayed and God answered. I believe we were THAT family. Just. The Right. One. Meet the newest addition to the Meyers farm… Haley.
