For a lot of guys new to glass, Id point out that fiberglass behaves very differently from graphite. So much so that I think a lot of preconceived notions about line weights, born out of experience with graphite, is keeping a lot of you from trying vintage glass because you seldom see vintage glass that throws line lighter than 5 or 6. But let me point this out to you, a 7 vintage glass rod that casts a 5 or 6 weight line is still a FINE small stream, small trout tool. A 10 trout can still really cut a shine on an old 6w glass rod folks, it doesnt have anything like the telephone pole feel of a 6w graphite with a smaller fish on, I promise.
