For a number of years the District has been working with the Province, Coast Guard and Ucluelet First Nations to secure land at lighthouse. We recently cleared a major hurdle with completion of Environmental Assessment so we are proceeding with Province to application. The picture on the left is the proposed Museum and WPT interpretive centre. The Historical Society is looking forward to a site where the unique history of this area dating back thousands of years will be available to the public. This project and the remarkable location, similar to WPT and Aquarium, will become a west coast attraction in itself. (We also get the lighthouse - each council person is already being schedule to light the light, polish the lens, every evening)
