For a while i have been considering becoming a vegan. I ran across this video while looking up vegan tags on instagram. Being the animal lover that I am, I debated watching this video knowing some of the content would be heartbreaking. But I needed to watch it to prove something to myself. Knowledge is power and the more you educate yourself, the more power you have. I have so many emotions right now. I dont know if I should be heartbroken, pissed, embarrassed to call myself a human being, or worried for mankind. All in all, the extreme that these animals go through, whether it be them being slaughtered, euthanized, used for entertainment purposes such as circuses or zoos, is a disgrace! Even if you say animals have no feelings, to know what these slaughter houses are doing to these animals before they become your meal, is disturbing. These people who work in these slaughter houses abuse these animals. To watch a grown man yell at a pig saying it was a no good piece of sh*t before taking a hammer and slamming it in the head repeatedly, is mortifying. Is that what we go to work for?! To take our built up anger out on an animal just because it is about to die anyway?! And Barlum and Bailey circus trainer saying if the elephants dont listen to their command to just take the poker and stick that mutherfu**er under the chin repeatedly till they scream made me sick to know that this is what we call entertainment. To know that we bring our children to these events to enjoy abused animals.... Dogs, cats, monkeys, rats, pigs, cows, and many other animals are used for science experiments to test vaccinations, electro shock therapy, and many other cruel experiments to find a cure for humans. How can research using an animal give you accurate results for humans when we are far from being the same?! Even though I am mortified from watching this, I do not regret my decission of doing so. A lot of you say its the circle of life its good protein or but it tastes so good, when asked why do you eat animals when the earth gives you food to survive on. Or is really just because you cant stomach the image of the process of your 7oz steak? I wasnt going to post this video because it is disturbing and rattled me to the core, but if I can reach just one person on my fb to watch this video, then I have atleast spread the word of whats going on. The images are disturbing and are sickening. Animal lovers will cry like I did. Some may become sick to their stomach.... but its knowledge. Educate yourself on the world. One thing is for sure... my mind is made up. I am turning a new page and becoming a vegan...
