For all my Kansas City friends on here, particularly North of the River, I want to share with you my bad experience about a particular auto inspection place on I35 and Antioch who probably has been ripping me off for years and I didnt even realize it. I didnt think much about it when I was faced with various repair bills when trying to get my cars the last 3 times I needed to get an inspection, but finally the truth surfaced and the owner of this place is as big of a scumbag con man as anyone in his business. The name of this place is the Antioch inspection Station on N. Antioch road just south of I35. I added up 1400 dollars in repairs from this guy over 4 years and was told by one of his old mechanics that he was told to make something up at times while he worked there. Well this last time woke me up. One year ago, September of 2012, I purchased a Dodge Ram pickup truck, used from a farmer in Nebraska. I took it into the con artist to get an inspection and was told that I needed to replace the tie rods and ball barings. I was quoted 600 dollars. I quickly paid it as I was anxious to get it on the road and knew I might have a repair bill after I bought it for a nice price. As it turns out, I only drove the pickup twice and it sat in my driveway much of the year with me only traveling 50 miles in one year in it. So when the inspection came up, I took it back to this scumbag so I could get it tagged again. He didnt remember me and told me that I needed ball barines and a new tierod. I told him to get fed and explained to him why he was full of it. I ended up taking it to Kevs on 72nd street. I told them to please be thorough. Kev came out and told me that there were no issues. Just to make sure, I took it to Bill and Larrys across the street and again was told that there were no issues. I might have gotten nailed for 600 bucks again.
