For all my aviation friends and family - especially Bruce Ross, Barbara OFlaherty-Monsma and a few others I know have PIC (Pilot in Command) hours logged. Ive been around aviation most of my life, developing an early interest in it even before my teenage years, thus my entry in to the Air Force after high school and my decade with Civil Air Patrol as an observer and squadron commander. This is some amazing flying - FIVE Airbus A-350 XWB jets flown in tight formations this past September and, no surprise, the aircrews are all either former military aviators or military reserve. The ability it takes to do this type of flying is incredible to those of us who know and this is spectacular, especially using large-body commercial aircraft. For the non-aviation types, if youve ever heard the term glass cockpit and didnt know what the term meant, there are several excellent views of the instrumentation on the flight decks in this footage - video displays (glass/digital) versus gauges (analog).
