For all my burners out there, know that I am wishing well your next good times, I am here in the Peace Corps in a desert in northwest Peru. There are dust storms each afternoon and no way to keep it out, no running water, no bathrooms, no sinks- Sound FAMILIAR?? Yep, its like I am back at the burn for the next 2 years, minus all the cantinas and awesome music, but still, it is striking a chord- the harshness of the environment here is very much like BRC, especially the no sink part, so behold: I give you, THE TIPPY TAP!! (I built this my first night here, and feel pretty stupid that I didnt make one while at the burn) Yes, the TIPPY TAP, aka an inverted water bottle with the bottom cut out. Behold its wonder! Next burn I hope to see a ton of these around, they are so easy to make, and once in-place- simply open the cap of the plastic bottle just enough to allow water to trickle out, then proceed with hand-washing, dish-washing, and everything else you need to wash. My gift to you all, but you can thank the Peace Corps for it, this is where I found out about it originally.
