For all my life, my focus was on understanding and figuring out how best to draw/paint all basic subject matter. Now I am learning from the opposite side. I now am learning to see from the fresh perspective of the customer which is a completely different mindset and world of philosophy than my previous artist mind. My main customer base is middle, upper-middle vacationers. So this is actually exciting. But it is a totally new arena for me and I literally am learning totally new ideas I never have even thought of before! Usually I would just paint an oil portrait to the best of my perfection and the customer would love it. Now I am seeing that I can design little knick knacks and other souvenirs and beachy items for under $10 so this is a totally different world but I can still paint and design the decorative part. This is a completely different mindset but very fresh and fun. A totally different world from my artist studio days in ny when I was all serious about becoming an excellent fine artist. The young egos dreams are in real life, may not be as fun as the simple.
