For all my old Af-Am Music students out there (especially the Tonnies and producers), this is an interesting read. Youll learn things about the life of an audio engineer that we never teach you here! But its also really an interesting look at Prince. The one thing none of these people get (including Susan Rogers) is how similar Princes recording habits were to Stevies. Same thing: He never sleeps very much, he wants every instrument set up to play when he arrives so that he can spontaneously move from station to station, he starts on the drums and plays the whole song through with no click track, he records 50 songs (most of which are also really, really good) for every one he puts out,... Just substitute Malcolm Cecil for Susan Rogers and its the same M.O. entirely.
