For all of the Friends, Family and huge fans of Michael Jimenez, After a long six year battle with cancer, Michael Jimenez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013. Many of you have been aware of the tough and challenging road that Michael and his family have traveled as he and they fought courageously to overcome his illness. Michael continued to work full time up until the last half of this last year at Santa Barbara High School where he oversaw, coached and kept a watchful eye on our teenagers. The students at Santa Barbara High School knew and loved him dearly as “the sweetest guy in the world” They also knew he could be anytime anywhere, so they needed to stay in line. In addition to the student body, Michael also remained deeply committed to the Santa Barbara Dons football program and their incoming and new talent. Michael would frequently show up at a sporting event that didn’t just include his own amazing athlete’s Krista and Jason, he would be there because he had such a passion for the students and the athletes. Michael put a smile on the face of everyone who came in contact with him. These last few years have been extremely difficult in so many ways for the Jimenez family, not only emotionally, but financially. His daughter Krista, a successful college student in San Francisco immediately returned home at the end of her sophomore year to spend every day of her summer at her dad’s side caring for him around the clock while Deanna has been working full time. Jason just recently graduated from Santa Barbara High School after an amazing football career, and has already started attending classes as Santa Barbara City College in addition to spending countless hours caring for his father.
