For all of the Milk-Shaikhs out there... When We come across an ayat in the Quran that says: O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result. My disagreement is this: There are some hadiths that say that the Prophet Muhammad gave permission to beat the women. Then there are some hadiths where the Prophet Muhammad forbade to beat the women. How do we decide in this matter? The Quran says Strike not beat! The Prophet is recorded to have never beaten his wives! Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah. How is that we say we love Allah...but beat our women when Allah clearly says Strike? How is that we say we love Prophet Muhammad. but we still beat our wives when we know he did not do it? Are we following Allah and His Messenger? Or, are we following someone elses CULTURAL Ideology?
