For all of you that dont already know, my good friends Australian - TopicsExpress

For all of you that dont already know, my good friends Australian Shepherd was shot by a Randall County Sheriff (Canyon, Texas) on Wednesday. He showed up because neighbors that live two houses down complained that her dogs werent penned up. They live on 6 acres outside of the city limits, and it is perfectly legal to not have your dogs penned up, although they do have a fenced area that they are kept in when not supervised. When the officer arrived, two of her dogs were laying underneath her truck in the driveway. The officer walked past them to knock on the door and was invited inside. After reviewing paperwork on the dogs and confirming that my friend was NOT breaking the law, my friend walked him out. As they were walking out (keep in mind that my friend is walking the officer out, with her baby in her arms) one of her dogs was out from underneath the truck and was barking. The officer shot Blue twice, in the leg and in the neck, claiming that Blue was barking aggressively. My friend had to beg him to put him down, as he was suffering greatly. There has never been any complaint that Blue is an aggressive dog. Hes a family dog that just so happens to bark for the hell of it. It is absolutely unacceptable that an officer cant tell the difference between aggressiveness and plain old barking, and had to use unreasonable force, when a simple no from his owner would sufficed, if she ever had the chance. This officer killed a member of their family and something in law enforcement really needs to change in order to stop the senseless killing if family pets. I dont want to have to worry about letting an officer in my house for fear that they might shoot my dog. Please like the Facebook page Justice for Blue and maybe we can get enough recognition that something will be done.
