For all of you who are excited about minimum wage being $13.00 an hour I just want to give you something to think about. Hosea 4:6 MY PEOPLE are destroyed from lack of knowledge. $13.00 an hour at 40 hours per week is $2080 per month. For those receiving government assistance youve just lost your link benefits, your portion of section 8 just went up, your child care payments went up, and you still cant make ends meet. So youll either end up quiting that good job because you cant afford to not receive benefits or youll struggle for the rest of your life. Mind you I didnt add child support and other sources of income you may receive. Im trying to show you how not to depend on the government. How not to accept what has been given to you. Im trying to teach you how to leave generational wealth to your children, not turn over your section 8 when youre gone. PEOPLE wake up! It is time for change and that change starts with you. But you wont even look at the opportunity and make your mind up for yourself. You need to ask pookie and them who living the same life you living, when you have state senators, apostles, single parents, lawyers, and everyday people who are in the same room with you telling you out of their own mouths how to become successful. Youd rather pay for a pair of Jordans, $300 on a Gucci belt and jeans but when its time to invest in yourself and your children you have no vision. You cant afford it. What you cant afford is to continue to live like you do. If something has to change then you need to be the one to change it. So enjoy your $13 an hour because all I can do is give you the information. What you do with it is up to you. As for me and my house, were going to serve the Lord and receive everything He has in store for us. I am the head and not the tail, the lender not the borrower. This is what youre allowed to make to receive benefits from the government. You can calculate it and then let me know if $13 an hour is still good?
