For all the movie-going and move-watching Ive done in my lifetime, - TopicsExpress

For all the movie-going and move-watching Ive done in my lifetime, I had never seen The Godfather---until last night. As good as the movie was/is (11 Oscar nominations, three Oscars won), what really fascinated me was the cast. Pretty cool seeing a young Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan and Diane Keaton. Pacino was an unknown actor at the time. Something about his acting that struck me weird, though...he delivered all of his lines in a very understated, quiet way. Every other film I see him in, hes yelling, sometimes over-the-top. It was just different (but good) watching him deliver the way he did. BTW, another young unknown, some guy named DeNiro, auditioned for the film and actually won a role. But at the last second, he was traded out for another actor. Whatever happened to that DeNiro guy? Did he stick with acting?
