For all those people who say I post sad stories, or how someone always dies. HERE, a sappy love story! I pulled my beanie onto my head as the temperature dropped. I tucked my hands underneath my arms to keep them warms. I watched as she played in the snow with her thick coat and mittens and looked a fool. She walked over to me and grabbed my hand, her mittens instantly warming. Before I knew, she was dragging me over to her small blue sedan with a dopey, beautiful smile on her face. “I always…” she opened her doors and began to hunt for something. She emerged with a another pair of mittens that were a bit more faded pink than the ones she was wearing. “…spare mittens. It can get really cold up here, and people think it’s not gonna be that bad seeming how you can drive up here and all, but it is.” I slid them onto my icy hands and felt them melt. “You gonna thank me? I just saved your hands.” She said, with her cute little face all scrunched up with fake frown meant only for me to give in. So I did. ”Thanks a bunch. I owe you one, big time.” I instantly regretted that statement as the last syllable flew from my lips. ”HA! Darn right you do! Now, I am calling in that favor, and we are going to see my parents this instant!” ”Your father will kill me once he finds out we are going to be married, in case you forgot, he almost killed me last time we met.” ”His finger slipped, daddy would never kill you without my consent. C’mon now.” She dragged me to the passenger door. “Now, be a good boy and get in the car.” She stomped on the snow over the her side and got in. She peered at me through the window, with just a blank stare. I slowly opened the door and slugged my way into my seat. ”He’s going to kill me. And that’s just your father, who knows how your mother will react, she was a soldier for Christ sake.” She turned on the engine and we sat there for a bit to let everything heat up. ”No one is going to kill you sweetheart. If I love you, they’ll love you, trust me.” ”You said that last time, I still got the scar from the buckshot that grazed me.” She pulled off her mittens, and I instinctively did the same. She looked over at me with her wonderful blue eyes and grabbed my hand. ”Just trust me honey, everything is going to be fine.” She pulled my face in for a kiss. We sat there a moment longer, holding hands, then she started the tread up the snowy road to her parents house. I knew i was willing to do anything for her. I knew, I was in love.
