For all you horsey people. :) I was approached today by a horse owner who wanted some tips on reducing the chance of snakes getting too close to her horses. I shared an idea with her about getting the brush-cutter and trimming down all the tall grass and weeds under the fence lines, as it can act like a highway for snakes to travel without being seen by predators. In return, she shared an idea of her own that she has put into practice. In noticing that she was getting a lot of snakes which were hanging around the water troughs (which were often surrounded by weeds), she decided to elevate the troughs and trim the grass underneath. As a result, no more snakes around the water troughs. Worked in her situation. Perhaps it may work in some of yours.
