For almost a week I was facebook-less in Chuuk, but I came face to face with reality of election campaign. Quite something,,, what an experience! Before, I used to help others push for their agenda, and speak as their supporter. This time, I deal with my supporters and try to set the pace, the tone, the message, for the overall vision and objective of my rally towards 2015. And I realize that part of the order of operation as I move deeper into my activities is to repair the moral and attitudinal damage done to a huge sector of our communities by decades of exploitations and deception by those who craved for power and made their pitch at whatever cost. There is a paramount need to restore courage in our own abilities to work together; need to look beyond government services as the only source for growth and survivability; need to accept that we are ultimately responsible as guardians of these islands to ensure long term viability and not let go to chances. The entire time I was out of FB touch, I trekked the trail between accepting the way things are and demanding for a better status. For instance, I could not internet from Fefen to check my messages. Then I recalled that even cellphone connection is still problematic at many parts. So, others said, thats the way it is. And I thought to myself, hell no, it is not right that they are netting from other parts of the country but not from where I am at the very moment. I dont know. I simply told my camp, I am not here to walk down the same road. We are here to find a better road. I am not here to simply change the rules. I am here to ask that we play a different game. Our time is upon us.
