The New Georgians 3 May - 27 July To commemorate the tercentenary of the accession of the Hanoverian monarchy, this open exhibition brings together contemporary art, craft and design inspired by 18th century formal Classicism, Palladianism and Neo Classicism, Gothic and Chinoiserie, as well as playful Rococo and Baroque styles. Stables Gallery Drawn to Abstraction Abstract open 23 January - 13 April For the first time, the gallery showcases contemporary abstract art, from semi-figurative to full abstraction in this vibrant, colourful open exhibition which celebrates a century since the birth of abstraction in western art. Lacemakers 30 October - end January 2015 Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by either by hand or machine. Once considered stuffy and Victorian, lace has been revived and reinvented by fashion designers, craftspeople and artists. This contemporary open exhibition showcases this versatile medium. Riverside Gallery Artist Books 19 November - end January 2015 To coincide with the annual literature festival, this exhibition showcases contemporary artists’ books – artwork in book form – from unique examples to limited editions works.
