For any puritans or collectors out there, I happen to have an almost original vintage Ranger 29 electrical system for sale (serious bidders only), lovingly maintained and expanded by various owners. Of the pearls of the collection I would mention a fully functional Loran C, which will be great when the Zombie Apocalypse comes and they turn off the GPS satellites. Of particular artistic value is the fuse holder from the starter solenoid, forged exclusively from metal oxides as well as a recently recovered work of art, the beige ground wire to the top left of the Lorad XR-70 VHF. It will be good for grounding people who are upset, if you connect the corroded spade plug to the alu foil helmet and the ring lug on the other end to the middle hole in the 120V wall plug (at own risk). The VHF should be functional, if it gets a new wick and fresh kerosene. The grey tube holds a piece of mystery electronics; both sealed ends (silicone) had popped out. It says flux capacitor on it and with a 5 gigowatt house battery, it should be able to hit October 21,1985. Sold as is. There are lots of original switch box switches, all with original, untouched patina - and several with the rare intermittent off/off functionality that really saves that precious battery power on long trips under sail. You just cant find those new. If the price is right, I may throw in an original 30A after market alternator almost filled up with what may be cottonwood fluff or perhaps the pelt of a small white poodle. An original motor from the bilge blower could also be available, its the very silent version, as the rotor is rusted stuck. If the whole package is carefully installed in its original place, it will reduce the voltage of the system to about 8V, saving over 50% of the power consumption and implement stealth mode on both radio and lanterns. Be quick .. this could be gone within the hour.
