For anyone and everyone. I am a Roman Catholic teenage girl with a broken heart. For a good while now the news and other forms of media have been covering and portraying the anguish, desperation, and destruction thats been taking place around the world. Im not overly conservative and I understand that I still have a lot to learn yet, but what I can not grasp is the justification of killing hundreds of innocent people. Men. Women. AND Children. Period. The crisis thats taking place in Gaza is just gut wrenching. Its difficult to sit and watch the television or see the images that flash past my screens without saying something. Like I said, I am Roman Catholic, but I have no problem calling my Islamic or Jewish friends my brothers and sisters, AND treat them as such. We are all here to learn from and love one another. That goes for my friends of all faiths and walks of life. What really gets me though, is that these faiths share the same origins, the same God, and they have these struggles with each other. We are all striving to be his peace makers and to carry out his will... Arent we? No matter what prophets weve chosen to follow, isnt the point always to lead those out of oppression and to treat others as we would wish to be treated? Especially since we have all known oppression in our own histories? Havent we all been taught to help our neighbors no matter their affiliations? When was it that it became help everyone except the Jew, or Muslim simply because thats who they are? No amount of war or death will prove good for either side. What salvation is worth that path? I hope that one day these differences will be set aside, not just for a cease fire but for good. Because Im sure Im not the only broken hearted human who feels helpless in this situation, who wishes I could make a difference and be there for the suffering parents no longer with children, or children no longer with parents. Its not right. Its simply not right, and no God would smile upon the series of events which have taken place in the last few weeks. #isupportworldpeace #deathcountover1800
