For anyone who gives a damn, my ten day countdown to 33 has begun. This birthday is significant to me as not only is James 3, but as a Saggitarius my lucky number is 3, so this year just may be it for the duration. As such, given recent FB philosophy debates as to my growing oversimplification on views of life, I want to use each day to share a quote that has influenced my 1/3 of a century and its source and my commentary, so here goes: Day 10: Do not go where the path may lead. I read this in a book of collective quotes entitled Strength For A Mans Heart that was a gift I received when I attained the rank of Eagle Scout when I was 17, and it has branded itself in my psyche ever since. If theres ever been another country boy who was called into the arts, cut his teeth at a Renaissance Faire, got an Eagle rank and a blackbelt before leaving town to train as a classical actor, lived in New York and then worked as a Vegas stuntman, regional actor, cruise ship singer who sailed the globe and bathed in the very Holy Land river of his namesake, learned classical singing as a hobby, married the woman who stole his heart and his mind and they left a flesh and blood version of his trail Id love to meet him.
