For anyone who may read this, please pray for the Christians of Iraq. ISIS is raping and killing every Christian they come across. They are even beheading children and placing their heads on stakes. I served two back-to-back tours in Iraq and vainly hoped that what I went through was worth it. I might have even convinced myself it was until tonight when I made the mistake of looking at news images of the atrocities. I am haunted by what I saw and I am filled with sadness and rage. In order to understand the mindset of the people I dealt with, I spent a great deal of time reading the Koran and looking through the Hadith. From that I learned that Islam is anything but a religion of peace and that every horrible act you can imagine, whether it be, murder, rape, child rape (male and female), slavery, etc.. is permissible as long as said acts are committed against a non-muslim or done to further the spread of islam. People who say otherwise have not actually read the Koran or Hadith or they are trying to hide such things from naive westerners who are ignorant of the truth. The members of ISIS are doing exactly what their religion specifically tells them to do; which is to forcibly convert, enslave, or kill all non-believers. I dont know what I can do to help the Christians of Iraq and Syria, but I know a Loving God who answers prayer, so I pray and ask others to pray with me.
