For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8) I love this vs because it gave me confidence that as a son of God I could expect to be led by the Spirit of God. In the beginning of my walk with God however, I didnt know how that worked. I was told by many,Let the Lord lead you son, but no one told me how to do that. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and sound Bible teachers who taught me and now Im able to help others. So I just want to encourage you and give you a few nuggets to help you to learn how to be led by the Spirit of God. 1) Develop faith for hearing His voice. You have to be confident that you will begin to hear the Lords voice. What I did was confess daily what Jesus said, that His sheep will hear His voice. In time I began to have faith that I would and I did. 2) Read the word daily. This was a big help because the Holy Spirit would not say anything contrary to what is already written. So if it sounds like something God wouldnt say, investigate it 1st in Scripture. If it agrees go for it. If not forget it. 3) Check your spirit. The holy Spirit dwells in your human spirit, so any leadings will come there. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. God doesnt directly speak to our minds but to our hearts. Let these things get you started and I will share the various ways the Holy Spirit leads us today. Be blessed
