For centuries in Ireland the people of this country have been treated as nothing - we have been invaded and ruled by people who have no interest in the good of the people.. Their interests were personal gain, greed, power and an understanding of the wealth of this countries natural resources and assets! Through the centuries we have suffered at the hands of these tyrant - from governments to religion and with them came evictions, dire lack of food, oppression, a need for emigration, extreme taxes (rob from the poor, give to the rich), work houses, soup kitchens, a huge depression, even our self worth and much, much more.. But what is happening in Ireland now is truly inspiring - there is a revival of everything that we hold strong in our culture and our heritage - out of such depression and strife has come a unified revival of everything we hold close to our hearts and it is coming from deep inside the heart and soul of the people!! Grass roots movements of passionate people are forming and growing stronger by the day - these have been quietly growing strong over the last few years, but are intensifying lately.. Anti-eviction groups and people who tend to the homeless and have set up soup kitchens off their own back.. We have a revival of Charles Stewart Parnells Land League - the list is endless - but these movements are in no way for self gain - they are for the good of the people and this country.. The amount of bards, musicians and inspirational writers that are being heard across this country right now is overwhelming.. The spirit of our past has been evoked, a very raw revival of our deep Celtic roots - with an amalgamation of so many stances we made through the centuries all rolled into one if we look through all that is happening and the passion that goes with it.. Its very powerful and this play acting that has been going on in Leinster House is shortly going to be a thing of the past - it was something that came out of British rule and is pathetic beyond words.. The way I see it - the Irish have really awoken from the slumber that centuries of oppression and distraction have given us and our fires have been reignited!! Real change is coming our way and there is not a thing that can stop us - it is inevitable!!
