For each of the past seven years, Festa Italiana has grown in size and popularity. To get the inside story about this years planning, Little Italy residents are invited to attend two meetings hosted by the UVA and StarEvents, the promoter of this years Festa. The meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 at the UVAs office, 1453 W. Taylor St. The meetings will give residents the opportunity to meet the promoters and ask them questions. To minimize the effect of the Festa on traffic and commerce, Taylor Street will stay open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, the day before the Festa begins. StarEvents needs a shorter setup time than past promoters. As in past years, Taylor Street will reopen to traffic by early Monday morning, August 18.
