For everyone that has supported RESOUND from the start - thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this ambitious project a reality. Ive had time to reflect on how far weve come, and I cant bring myself to view this project in the lens of a beginning and end - in numbers or in technicalities. When I remember RESOUND - I can only think of the moments as our team worked tirelessly to build this vision during these past three months - let me illustrate. Priscilla Yuen - To hear you tell your story at your first interview, to watch you dance for the first time in October in the skylit room of SIPA 15 was truly some of the most beautiful experiences Ive had the privilege to witness. I hold those hours of fireside chats sharing poetry and laughs over the crazy dream of pulling together this show dear to me. You were the force of inspiration that made me see the beauty and potential of what we were doing. Daniel Garcia - When you first walked into your interview with your guitar and goofy character, I never would have imagined that youd be at my side as someone Id consider one of my best friends. I can recount many rough late nights where youd swing by my room with some free bubble tea, some stressbusting backrubs, and really helpful encouragement that got me through this in one piece. It means a great deal to me the amount of time youve put into ensuring my well-being and it honors me to have your trust and confidence. David Streid - You were a great RA to me last year when I was a freshman - and Im glad that through this project, I was able to get to finally know you as a friend. Lerner Ramps that one night - hearing you speak about what truly matters to you - was the moment that solidified my respect and trust in you as a person. You are, at heart, a truly tender, supportive, and trustworthy individual that I can always count to have my back. Katie Lam - I remember being blown away at your first interview by the fire and composure you brought into the room. Working with you on filming the very first portrait for the series and hearing you perform spoken word was always a mix between sheer fun and jolting inspiration at the raw power of your voice and identity. You were there for everyone from the very beginning - and the time youve put into organizing details for this project and coming back to record new material only lends credence to the level of respect I have for you. Jo Chiang - When I heard that you were another dedicated visual artist both in film and performance - I knew I wanted to get to know you better - and what Ive found is far greater than what the titles suggest. That day we shot in Barnard remains one of the most memorable moments of creating cultureSHOCK - your spoken word delivery was one of calculated honest passion that I am truly lucky to have had the privilege of engaging one-on-one. Your compassion that you encapsulate within your passion make you among the most beautiful individuals Ive ever met. Alex Nguyen - Before weve really met - Id only known of you from a distance as a character that Id never have the opportunity to interact with. But in talking to you through this project - Ive come to understand why your existence carries the weight that it does. You are a incredibly beautiful human being at the heart of your voice able to bring to light difficult truths that I myself find resonating with me. Your trust and honesty with me is something I never would have expected to have - but something I greatly value. Audrey Vardanega - I remember what an enigmatic figure that you were to me before we started working together - and in getting to know you better - Ive found myself incredibly taken by your aesthetic and self-respect. The unique style with which you express yourself, in voice, in music, in the public sphere - is something remarkably beautiful to me. Hearing and watching the energy with which you perform in the dark of that Wien Lounge was magic that I find myself coming back to all the time when I found myself in need of inspiration. Jaycee Parker - Im incredibly grateful that you made the choice to be a part of this project - your voice has been an invaluable part of this project. Ive learned a great deal from the many times weve sat down to talk and share in these past few weeks. You are an incredibly well-versed and lyrical person with a remarkably open mind and welcoming personality. The trust youve placed in me and this project is something that I hold great value in - and I thank you for the honesty and passion youve shown me and this project. Elias Liakos - Its been an honor to have had the chance to work with you on this - it still blows my mind the incredible lyrical talent that you carry with you. I remember seeing the small book in which youve written out all your spoken words with pinpoint detail - the care and time youve put into creating your words and telling your story is a testament to your huge respect for the craft and the voices of others in addition to your own. Your contribution, compassion, and investment in helping this project come together is something thats earned you great respect in my book. Kelly Luis - I remember when we were first starting out in October the budding nature of your voice - but to have watched it grow into the composed and confident voice that I see now is among the most rewarding experiences Ive had. Listening to you and your uke create that atmosphere of magic on Halloween is something that sticks with me. Your laughter, your generosity, and your sunny spirit was the uplifting force that kept me afloat through the hardest parts of this project - and Im so glad to have had the chance to know you. Zhibek Issakyzy - The crazy places weve went to get the shots we did on your shoot was some of the most fun Ive had through this entire process - and its a mark of our time throughout this project. You are an incredibly bright, fun, and spirited individual that Im so glad that Ive had the chance to work with. Learning about you and your unique perspective has helped me learn a great deal about the mission of this project and understand why we were doing the work that we were doing. Thank you so much for your dedication and invaluable participation in making this happen. Shirin Dey - Ive loved working with you since we created the video for Dhoom last year - and its been a highlight of creating this show to have been able to include you in this project. Ive learned so much as weve talked throughout this process and Im so glad that weve been able to become better friends throughout these past weeks. Your support and unbelievably bright and beautiful spirit has brought me up every time Ive had the chance to witness it. Thank you so much for being a part of this and for helping getting me through to the end. -TBC NEXT POST-
