For everyone who has dumped their pet on the side of the road....why??? You got a pet, puppy or kitty...you loved them, wanted them now...did you not think that there was costs involved??? Food, vetting, grooming??? Did you not check before you got a pet that your kids would not be allergic to one??? Did you not realize that if you dont spay or neuter them they could be pregnant and your one cat could turn into 20 in a year??? Did you not think how wrong it is to have a litter of puppies and then dump them momma dog who you so careless did not alter??? How about checking with your landlord before you got a cat or a dog??? Did you not realize that with Pit bulls comes insurance issues??? How about that your male dog will mark and roam if left unaltered??? Did you do any research about training a dog? How about that that cute mastiff puppy will grow to be 200 lbs??? Did you ever think that it was your responsibility to teach your children to be kind to animals, that they are not play toys??? Or that its your responsibility to keep your pets home and if they get out that there is fees involved in getting them out of a impound??? Did you know that dumping a dog is illegal and you could get arrested for doing it??? All of these things that were your responsibility and you could not take the time to find a good home for your pet? You took the easy way out for you...do you care that your pet is not a wild animal, that they will get hit by a car, starve to death painfully, be attacked by coyotes, did you ever think of how sad and confused they are???? You had that cat declawed...then let it free...now even getting away from a predator is impossible not to mention catching food??? Of course we know...we have heard it all...its someone elses fault...always...really??? What did you do to find a good home for it after you failed miserably??? Did you call one rescue or did you call 50??? Did you talk to your friends??? Or did you, because with many shelters there is a fee, decide that paying 40.00 or 20.00 or whatever was to expensive??? Seriously....after you screwed up, made a stupid life choice, its to expensive for you to keep your pet safe??? To find it a good home???? Or did you get angry because a shelter or rescue was full, blame them and then dump your pet??? How about those that get angry at us for not adopting to them because they do not show responsibility?? Because we checked with their landlord or we watched how their child acted with the animal....Again....Seriously???? Pets are NOT object to own and we are not a grocery store or a dump...we do what we can, when we can, we do it because you made a bad choice. We should be doing it for those who truly need our help, for those who are ill, who died for the emergencies that do come up....if everyone was responsible with their pets then rescues would not be so over whelmed...and dogs and cats would not be dying in shelters or trying to survive on their own because irresponsible people dumped them on the side of a gravel road...sad what this world has come to...:( My vent and thought for the day...breaks my heart ever time I have to go out and search for a dog or a cat that someone dumped...even worse when I cant find them and I know they are suffering...because of one person...:(
