For everyones use, here is a recent Q&A with a runners support crew about this years Badwater 135: Could you give me some informations about the Badwater Race? 1º) during the route how many points to buy water and ice? and restaurantes? Lone Pine is the only location to buy anything during the race. You will go through Lone Pine at Mile 45 and at Mile 122. You will never be more than 30 miles from Lone Pine. The race magazine will include a map of Lone Pine which notes its most relevant businesses, plus an outline of those businesses (Name, address, phone number, hours). 2º) all members of the crew will have to be in the start of the race? At least two crew members must be on the race course at all times. You can have others waiting or resting in Lone Pine if you want. Most runners have 3 or 4 crew members with them at all times. Please note there will be NO crew support of the runners from the start line to Mile 3.5 while the runners start the race and go through a steep, narrow canyon. (No pacers, no cars.) 3º) there will be some point of water supply provided by the organization? I read that during the route to Cerro Gordo, there will be two points, is it true? During the out-and-back dirt road section from Mile 59.4 to Mile 74.8 (Cerro Gordo section), there will be no support vehicle support and only one crew member may accompany the racer, on foot. During this section, the race organization will provide water and ice at approximately the 2/3 mark (Mile 64.0 and Mile 70.2) and at the turn-around in Cerro Gordo (Mile 67.1)
