For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. Hebrews 4:2 The Word + Faith = Profit Faith = conviction Profit = advantage The Word of God brings change in thought, word, and attitude that affects our actions. A Word heeded will profit you! All scripture is profitable (2 Timothy 3:16), containing every answer you will ever need. Seducing spirits and doctrines of demons are subtly drawing people away from the true faith in Jesus Christ. Backsliding doesnt take place suddenly. It begins in the heart. Backsliding precedes apostasy (falling away). The conscience is seared with no conviction of wrong. The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways (Prov 14:14). God is calling the backslider back to Himself, to be nourished up in the Words of faith and good doctrine. For godliness is profitable for ALL things (1 Tim 4). STAY in the Word. People will see the advantage, the usefulness of the Word in you (vs 15). The need NEED to see it so they can see Christ!
