For little Surette Clark this is the post of the year. All we know - TopicsExpress

For little Surette Clark this is the post of the year. All we know is that she was born in 1966. The month and day is unknown. And she was murdered in November 1970. Her step father shook her. When she become ill, he buried her. She may have been alive. No one reported this girl missing for 24 years. A family member called police, suspecting Wayne Clifford Roberts, Surettes step-father, had murdered the baby. When the police started looking for the baby they could not find her. None the less Roberts was tried and convicted for the murder in 1996. Meanwhile, Phoenix Police continued to search for Surettes body. In 1979, the body of a little girl was found in a shallow grave beneath the old Mill Avenue Bridge in Tempe. The skeleton was still intact. For nearly 31 years, the remains were labeled Jane Doe. In May 2010, Phoenix detectives approached Tempe Police Detective Tom Magazzeni when they learned about Tempes cold case. They worked closely together and began to see similarities between Surettes and Jane Does murders. Looking at the reports, the cases matched, the time line matched and the victims description matched, Magazzeni said. Magazzeni obtained samples from Surettes biological mother. The DPS Crime Lab compared the DNA to that of Jane Doe. The results matched, but to check the validity, Magazzeni found DNA samples from Surettes biological father. The father died in February of this year, but samples were collected from a skin biopsy he had done years before his death. Once again, the results matched and investigators were able to confirm that Jane Doe was Surette Clark. This little baby was missing yet found for almost 40 years. The cops did a wonderful job in finding her and bringing her home. This case just prove that they should never be forgotten. You can find the main story on the internet, but not much background info on this case. For the most part this little Angel has been all but forgotten except for a few people. She now needs to be remembered. Forgotten Angels set up a Find A Grave page for little Surette. Today there are only a few flowers. Please visit her and leave a comment and flowers if you can. God bless you little Angel we remember you.
