For man has closed himself up, till he see all things thro narrow chinks of his cavern. Thus one portion of being, is the Prolific, the 09 other, the Devouring; to the devourer it seems as 10 if the producer was in his chains, but it is not so, 11 he only takes portions of existence and fancies 12 that the whole. 13 But the Prolific would cease to be Prolific 14 unless the Devourer as a sea recieved the excess 15 of his delights. 16 Some will say, Is not God alone the Prolific? 17 I answer, God only Acts & Is. in existing beings 18 or Men. 19 These two classes of men are always upon 20 earth, & they should be enemies; whoever tries to reconcile them seeks to destroy existence. 02 Religion is an endeavour to reconcile the two. 03 Note. Jesus Christ did not wish to unite 04 but to seperate them, as in the Parable of sheep and 05 goats! & he says I came not to send Peace but a 06 Sword. 07 Messiah or Satan or Tempter was formerly 08 thought to be one of the Antediluvians who are our 09 Energies. 10 A Memorable Fancy
