For many reasons, the past week as been a heartbreaking week. So much loss as we face tragic death, illness, more flooding, and personal trials. We have to hang tough. We held Committee Meetings last evening, as well as a Special Meeting of the Council. Not much was definitively decided, however I was happy to once again be able to show my support for local business. Perhaps people may disagree with me on this issue, but I am determined to build Louisiana. I believe that we stand a better chance of rebuilding our economy in Louisiana if we support those businesses we already have and who are trying to weather these economic times and stay alive. Emotions were running high last night. I know they were for me and some others as well. I believe this is a time to come together. Someone has to make decisions in times like these and unless those decisions are detrimental to the community, I believe we need to stand by those decisions that are made by those in our leadership positions. I do not believe those elected to office or those in administration should be engaging in public disrespect to individuals who have stepped up and assumed extra responsibilities in maintaining the safety and security of our City. When I see it, I will stand up against it. Have a beautiful day!
