For many years, I refused to vote. I was so mad at the system, so disenfranchised, so frustrated by the lack of real choice or action that ever came from our supposed leaders... that I didnt even bother. I didnt believe change would come from voting. So I went to work to build my own businesses, my own influence, my own power to create the change I wanted to see in the world. But I dont believe that anymore. I think if were truly going to change things all systems have to work hand in hand. Everyone has a role, and real change can come from within the system... it just takes enough caring people, and enough awareness, that we prop up and get elected the right leaders. Special interests and the LACK of campaign finance laws are killing this country, and destroying our world. The government is really a government by the money, for the money. The secret invisible wall you cant see which determines who gets elected or who doesnt... is money. And until the influence of money is out of politics, we will never have a true democracy. I just voted. I counted my voice towards the nov 4th elections. I know we arent close yet to a true democracy in this country, but I believe and know in my heart its possible. I know we could make incredible changes over the next few decades that usher in a brand new era for humanity. And Im committed to that vision no matter what it takes. There are some decent candidates out there, and some horrible. Its better to have someone whos decent then someone whos horrible... so just get out and vote!! :)
