For many years, the world has watched with horror as the human rights nightmare in Burma has unfolded under military rule led by Gen Than Shwe who is most responsible person, still playing important role by 2008 constitution. Another one is former DDSI chief Gen Khin Nyunt. Both two generals was ordered to arrest BaBa U Win Tin in 1989 because of his political activities and close association to DASSK. U Win Tin was jailed for 19 years in Insein Prison, mostl in solitary confinement. His sentence was increased whilst in prison when he secretly published anti-military propaganda. Eventhough, U Win Tin released in 2008, his health is getting worse by prison life and torture. In photo below, Gen Khin Nyunt told Baba U Win Tin, leave all the past! Can he? U Win Tin replied to Gen Khin Nyunt by media respond (in the later time after meeting) that Gen Khin Nyunt and all military leaders must apologize to People of Burma, to Political Prisoners, even they should apologize themselves for their wrong doing. Yet, for too many years, the world done little to address there human rights abuses. We have seen how severe human rights abuses are not simply condemnable acts, but require concerted efforts to achieve some semblance of accountability and justice. Ba Ba U Win Tin wearing a blue shirt (like prison uniform) every day until his final days in hospital, to remind people of those still incarcerated.
