For me and doubtless for a lot of us, watching a performance is so much more enjoyable when you can tell that the performers are actually enjoying themselves . . . and might I add; tremendously. This is one of those performances. Conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin: a French Canadian conductor and pianist, I think you will enjoy watching this enthusiastic and engaging full version of the Nutcracker. One of my favorite pieces from childhood. I was always amazed at how Tchaikovsky could create such harmony and variety, each piece has its own character. I know its early, but I hope this puts you in a lovely frame of mind. . . even though this is mostly played at Christmas. What an amazing ethereal trip through time and the cosmos.
