For me the Inner Smile is a simple way to practice Pratyhara (withdrawel of the senses). It is an effective way to pull my senses together into my on body. This inner focus eventually brings Dharana (concentration) into play. It also creates a pleasant, happy and relaxed state of mind. During my concentration I try to bring all my senses to a single place in preparation for Dhyana (meditation), the main purpose of yoga. -Tony Sanchez
