For most [students], the first day of school is exciting. For a few, it is excruciating. Im sure weve all seen kids like the one featured in this article. We make sure to treat the student with extra consideration. But the first day of school often blends into the first week, the first month and all too often, the whole high school experience. This article doesnt offer solutions, but it does make us think. What can WE (as a part of the educational system) do to help these kids? Perhaps contact the school counselors? I dont have an answer.
