For my Miami-Dade County Public Schools Colleagues: Research shows that district walkthroughs to merely check for compliance does nothing but harm. Think about that next week when the districts instructional review teams come around your classroom with that checklist to see if you are using all those teaching methods, pacing guides, and all the other worthless junk that the so-called district experts believe you must strictly follow in order to be effective. Of course, most of it is put together by those same individuals who conduct the walkthroughs. How dare we not use their materials and wonderful ideas! Im sure teacher-robots and cookie-cutters of every other teacher in the building, will be getting excellent reviews.
