For my cousin, Kelly Lynch Strazdas You all know Kelly Lynch Strazdas, she is ever present here liking what we write, making those pithy comments always supportive, fiercely loyal and loving to family Straightforward and determined, I especially like that when she sees my kids, she does not hesitate to stick out her hand and say Cousin Kelly by way of opening always relieving me of the detestable chore of introduction But that sometimes makes me feel a little melancholy that such repeated reminders even are necessary bitter, a little, that the other Lynchs lived less than three miles away in Roselle all our lives and we did not see them more victimized by the overwhelming presence of mothers family Daddys, in many cases, unfairly taking a secondary role to the omnipresence of Sweeneys and Canons, wonderful as such association always was, is and shall remain forever It is time to widen the net; Kellys enthusiasm for family is contagious; requiring a Lynch, Derzinski, Nolan reunion of the immediate kind; days at the track not enough anymore funerals and wedding insufficient to maintain the kind of bond required to keep an extended family active and involved in one anothers lives; celebrating just what it is to be part of the proud clan. Kelly is the embodiment of all that is Lynch; she laughs, she parties, she works hard, she champions every aspect of family; traits to be glorified Like the whoville children blowing hoo hoo on their trumpets I did have the pleasure to work with Kelly and Judy at Daddys Upstairs Café; Mostly fun till I sliced that piece off my thumb in the slicer; nobody had the ham that day...I hope And dear Kelly, there was an incident...you know the one... it has preyed on my mind till this very day; in the spirit of the day, I ask your forgiveness...it has taken me these thirty years to admit this to you...the money was in my shoe.. I know you know...Daddy knew, you can not bullshit a bullshitter of Daddys magnitude...please accept my heartfelt apology and accept this tribute in the spirit in which it is intended; with the love and devotion you always show Have a wonderful day, Dear Kelly; reuniting with you via our daily correspondence has been wonderful...You are my writing barometer on these pages...I wait all day to see if you like it. If you dont, I know I failed for the day... You are the everywoman, the face of the clan, you are loved.
